This report presents the findings of focus groups conducted with educators and experts from engineering, healthcare, and design disciplines across three European universities. It identifies key competency gaps in current engineering education related to the development of customisable wearable rehabilitation devices. The results highlight shortcomings in systems integration, materials and manufacturing knowledge, data analysis skills, interdisciplinary collaboration, human-centred design, and information security. This report evaluates the outcomes of a hands-on interdisciplinary workshop held at Super Fab Lab Oulu. Through activities covering 3D scanning, CAD modelling, electronics, programming, and testing, participants experienced the full wearable device development cycle. The evaluation demonstrates the effectiveness of experiential learning in building technical and collaborative skills, while also identifying key gaps in regulatory knowledge, clinical context awareness, and embedded systems expertise.
